What Keeps a Currency Dominant
A currency's global dominance isn't just size or military might — it's trust, stability, and forward-looking strategy. What could the US have done better?
FIG. 01 — FROM THE ORIGINAL THREAD
Historically, a currency’s global dominance isn’t just about size or military might.🪖 It’s about trust, stability, and forward-looking strategy. What could the US have done better to strengthen, rather than erode, its leadership? 🗽
💰First, carefully containing national debt—not by dramatic austerity, but through strategic and targeted cost-cutting. Fiscal discipline isn’t flashy, but economic history suggests it’s foundational to long-term stability.
Next, aggressively investing in innovation, including advanced manufacturing. The shape of production 5 years from now will be radically different. Leading that transition—not reacting to it—is key to maintaining economic primacy.
🧑🎓🧑🏫 Education isn’t just social policy; it’s economic policy. Training the next generation’s workforce is one of the best investments a nation can make. With AI rapidly advancing, preparing workers for the future becomes even more urgent.
